Celebrating Women in Construction Week at Chesapeake

How Chesapeake Celebrated Women in Construction Week

In honor of Women in Construction Week 2026, the Women of Chesapeake spent an afternoon crafting stunning floral arrangements and enjoying time together. The flower‑arranging workshop offered a creative and meaningful way to pause, connect, and celebrate the incredible women who help shape our projects, and our company, every day.

This event was a beautiful reminder that construction isn’t just about building structures; it’s about building community. The women at Chesapeake bring expertise, leadership, and resilience to every role they hold, and their impact is felt across every jobsite and department.

Women continue to shatter stereotypes and break new ground in the construction industry. Today, progress is clearly visible:

  • Women make up 11.6% of the total construction workforce in 2026
  • The number of women in construction has increased by 45% over the last decade
  • From 939,000 in 2016 to 1.36 million in 2025, more women than ever are entering and thriving in the industry

At Chesapeake, we’re proud to support and celebrate the women who drive innovation, collaboration, and excellence in construction. Women in Construction Week is not just about recognizing how far the industry has come… it’s about continuing to build opportunities and create spaces where women can grow and succeed.
