Morningstar Storage Awarded 2023 Construction Facility of the Year

January 11, 2024 | By Chesapeake Contracting Group | Company News

Chesapeake is proud to announce that Morningstar Storage, located in Baltimore, MD, has been awarded the 2023 Construction Facility of the Year by Modern Storage Media.

MSM acknowledged the unique construction challenges faced by this project, leading to its well-deserved recognition. These challenges included the transformation of the former Schenuit rubber tire factory building, coupled with the complexities of a tight site, which presented difficulties  due to the location of the building. Michael Shevitz, Chesapeake’s Senior Project Manager on Morningstar, addressed the challenges, stating, “the other huge issue was the site’s proximity to the embankment along the Falls stream.” The innovative solutions and dedication displayed throughout the project truly set Morningstar Storage apart, making it a deserving recipient of this significant award.

Through our proven processes and people-first approach, Chesapeake is recognized as an award-winning general contractor for this development with Klein Enterprises. Click to view the project and read the article, https://www.ccgmd.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/MSM-Dec-23-Morningstart-FOTY-1.pdf
