Former Executive Vice President to Lead Baltimore-Based Commercial General Contractor

Chesapeake Contracting Group, an award-winning commercial general contractor serving Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., Delaware, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina, has promoted Michael Ginsberg to President. Previously Executive Vice President, Ginsberg will lead the company’s day-to-day operations while working alongside CEO Frank Settleman and the senior leadership team to advance the company’s strategy, strengthen operational performance, and deliver exceptional experiences for clients, associates, communities, and project stakeholders.

Ginsberg brings 28 years of experience with Chesapeake and a lifelong connection to the company his father founded in 1979. Throughout his career, he has led high-profile commercial projects and more than 1,500 multifamily apartments, working closely with every department to build a comprehensive understanding of the business. That perspective, combined with hands-on field experience and progressive leadership roles throughout the organization, has helped drive Chesapeake’s growth across the Mid-Atlantic region.

“It is an incredible honor to serve as President of Chesapeake Contracting Group,” said Michael Ginsberg. “Decades of experience have taught me that our greatest competitive advantage has always been our commitment to our people, the relationships we’ve built, and our culture. We have an outstanding team, and I believe our greatest opportunities are still ahead of us — not only to grow, but to become an even more predictable and valuable partner to our clients.”

Ginsberg believes Chesapeake’s future will be defined by operational discipline, leadership development, technological innovation, and a relentless commitment to delivering predictable outcomes for clients. His vision is to build on the company’s established reputation while investing in its people, strengthening strategic partnerships, and fostering a culture of continuous learning that positions Chesapeake for sustained long-term growth. A strong advocate for community impact, Ginsberg serves on the Board of Advisors at the University of Maryland Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center.

“Michael’s promotion reflects a succession process we have been preparing for over time,” said Frank Settleman, CEO of Chesapeake Contracting Group. “He has earned the confidence of our associates, clients, and leadership team through his operational excellence, sound judgment, and commitment to our culture.”

This leadership transition reflects Chesapeake’s ongoing commitment to strong leadership and long-term growth. Under Ginsberg’s leadership, the company will continue building upon the values, relationships, and reputation Chesapeake has established over nearly five decades.
