Aviation Station

March 22, 2023 | By Chesapeake Contracting Group | Project Update

Last week, a helicopter was onsite at Aviation Station in Middle River, MD to help us lift 2,000 lb. smoke vents. With 75 lifts in one day, the use of the helicopter made it easier to set each smoke vent in the correct position. Since a crane would have taken multiple days, the helicopter helped our field team reach certain distances and site access constraints.

Aviation Station is a 1,900,000 SF former factory for military aircrafts in WWII. Now, the new and improved 53-acre infrastructure is slated for industrial and big box retail developments. Outside, 25 acres will be used for outside storage and trailer parking.
