Foundry Row Featured in NAIOP MD Article

April 22, 2024 | By Chesapeake Contracting Group | Industry Highlight

Foundry Row, featured in a recent NAIOP Maryland article, showcases the successful use of porous pavement. Completed in 2016, this project has since demonstrated numerous benefits, including reduced maintenance costs and exceptional durability.

As the largest porous pavement parking lot in Maryland, covering 32,000 SY, Foundry Row stands as a testament to innovative construction methods. Chesapeake takes pride in its role as the general contractor for this expansive retail development. Our approach involved integrating 100,000 CY of recycled concrete material from the demolition of the existing building for the required reservoir under the pavement.

Beyond the pavement aspect, the mixed-use project involved development of the 45-acre site and the construction of 234,000 SF of office and retail buildings. This comprehensive approach underscores the project's significance and showcases sustainable construction practices in action.
