Maryland Department of Health Headquarters

October 16, 2025 | By Chesapeake Contracting Group | Project Spotlight

We’re pleased to share some exciting news on the Maryland Department of Health’s (MDH) new headquarters: a 500,000 SF, five-story office fit-out in downtown Baltimore.

Chesapeake Contracting Group and our trade partner MECC successfully completed the last of multiple weekend crane picks where over 72 pieces of mechanical equipment were safely hoisted onto 4 new rooftop steel dunnage platforms. The BIM modeling, MEP coordination, and early-stage mockups for offices, restrooms, and furniture approvals are completed. The Level 5 finishes are nearing completion with drywall close-in and prime paint.  The offices, conference center and grand lobby on the lower levels are progressing well.

We’re also honored to have been awarded the construction of a new 1,100 space post tensioned concrete parking garage on the new Maryland Department of Health campus. We’re grateful for the continued trust of our client and partners and look forward to delivering this next phase as the general contractor with the same commitment to quality and excellence.
