Baltimore’s first mass timber building takes shape, lands tenants

October 21, 2022 | By Chesapeake Contracting Group | Project Update

CCG is proud to be a part of Baltimore's first mass timber building, 40TEN. Vice President David Ginsberg had the pleasure of talking with NAIOP Maryland about this extraordinary project coming to Canton this year.

Ginsberg discussed the process that took place to get this project off the ground stating, “we did a lot of upfront prep to understand how the systems work." Detailed planning played a critical role in the project’s schedule. “We were tracking cargo ships on a marine tracking website to better gauge the timing of when materials would arrive onsite to help with our day-to-day project scheduling,” Ginsberg said. “However once materials arrived onsite, our timber trade partner StructureCraft proceeded swiftly and smoothly with construction.”
